How to read a snack label in under a minute
Ingredients, nutrition panel, FSSAI number — the three things worth checking on any pack, including ours.
Start with the ingredients
Ingredients are listed from the largest amount to the smallest. On a makhana pack, makhana should come first, followed by oil and seasoning.
A short list of words you recognise is a good sign; if the back of the pack reads like a chemistry test, it is worth pausing.
Check the nutrition panel
Look at the serving size first, then the values per serving. Comparing two snacks only makes sense when you compare the same weight.
Look for the licence
Every packaged food sold in India should show an FSSAI licence number and the manufacturer's address. SNAKZA packs carry both, so you always know who made what you are eating.
